Hi there, even with gps turned off, sometime the gps icon appears on the left side of the topbar for some seconds.

    What's happening there?

Is this just an (unfulfilled) gps request from some spying app?
Or does it even turn on gps?

Same here. It is a little disturbing that I cannot identify which app or service that is doing this

You have an application that is either requesting position data, or using the geofencing API.

Can I identity which app or service so I can get rid of it?

Go through your applications that have Location services permission and turn it off. After that you may have to start removing Android applications, if any.

I started noticing it more frequently after I got my passport with 10.3 on it, and Amazon... my Z10 started doing it too after the 10.3.1 update with Amazon preloaded. can't choose permissions for the app, and location is one of them!

Funny OP that you mention this as just today I was wondering the same thing and tried a few things to get rid of it with no success. It is odd as I never noticed before and now I'm wondering if the Amazon Kindle app is doing it as I just loaded that a week ago. I will remove it and report back if it works.

Well that didn't do it and like someone else stated, I went through each app and turned the ones I could turn off and no change. I have several android apps, but you can't toggle the location. I wonder if the Google app 'Permissions' could change them without affecting the app too bad to work right. I might give it a try if I get some time.
