I just got a chromecast and was wondering the same thing. I downloaded the chromecast app from snap but it does not detect the chromecast adapter on my network.

wondering if there is a workaround to get it to work on the z10.

Chromecast works just fine on my Z10. I downloaded the chromecast app via snap but the app didn't work. But when I opened the youtube-app I saw the chromecastsymbol in the upperright corner. I tested it and it works perfectly! My guess is that bb10 knows how tot link with chromecast without help of the chromecastapp.

i just bought Chromecast about 10min ago!! Woohoo for being available in Canada. I just installed Chromecast from snap, just waiting for my dongle to arrive now lol

YouTube works, Netflix doesn't. At least, according to the other threads that already exist.

Doesn't really seen worth it if you only want to use it on BlackBerry 10.

what YouTube app are you using? the bb10 "browser" does not have that option.

YouTube from snap requires google services to be installed.....

I don't have Chromecast but seeing someone say native app/web site doesn't work prompted me to have a look. Tap the 3 horizontal lines at the top right, hit the "gear wheel" for options, tap Connect to TV, then you should have this screen....

I am on the same boat. My chormecast does not see the adapter.
1. Did you install Youtube from Snap?
2. What version of Youtube you are using?

I haven't tested chrome cast with my Z30 but in order to obtain the pairing code you are speaking of download the chrome cast app via GP (snap). The app supplies the pairing link code.

I'm on the latest leak (10.2.1.29xx I think, in the leaks forum). Netflix shows the Cast icon but Youtube, I think, has been broken by it. I so far haven't seen anyone that has gotten both working simultaneously, so take your pick. Personally since I subscribe to Netflix I would prefer to have that available so I'm sticking with the leak.

There is just one version of YouTube that works, I believe, so if you've updated to the latest, it won't work. The version of YouTube I have that works is 5.3.32. PM me if you need it. I think I still have the bar file (it has to be side loaded).
