    Right..

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. BlackBerry is supposed to optimise the firmware for better battery life.

Plus If you could tell me where I could find a 3800Mah battery for my z10 (that won't protrude), I'd be eternally grateful.

Fortunately, IT DOES work that way. Fit's in my Z10 just fine because it's the same size as the older battery!
Do a Goggle. You'll find numerous places to purchase the battery!

or you can always wait for BlackBerry to do what it's suppose to do!

    Bottom Line?
I don't have any battery issues!!

Know matter how many of us try to offer a solution to help with those of you with issues someone will alway have a negative twist.

I have no doubt that "YOU" have a bug in your email sync!

I've had my Z10 since the day it came to market, have installed EVERY SINGLE Leak offered and
I have NEVER had so much as one issue with my Device! NOT ONE!

I read a lot of complaints but very few solutions offered by those that complain.
And while those that choose to complain will continue to complain, I will do my best to continue to offer "possible" solutions!

I've read those 3800 mah batteries are just knock offs of the 1800 mah.. do you get any improved battery life?

Pretty hard to pack 3800 mah into 1800 mah size???

Lostboy5151 - what is your solution?

My drain is related to Google Apps email, a Sync setting and the new OS update. I'm posting this so if others have the same issue we can problem solve it.

I posted my solution in another thread. My bad for not linking to it. But basically I'm using my browser for email until we get a solution from BlackBerry or a user works out what's going on exactly.

Don't know if they're a knock off. But DO NOT put anything apart from an official BlackBerry battery into your phone. I've done it twice. One leaked and ruined my torch. And another never held its charge and my Bold died during a Restart. I had to do a factory restore.

Why , then would a smart person come to this "stupid thread" with nothing smart to offer?
I'm offering a possible solution for the Z10 and the Z30. Yes, you Can remove the battery from the Z30 by removing a few screws!

The Q5... I'll leave it to you to offer a smart solution!

Your suggestion is an alternative, not a solution. Know the difference.

This has been covered many many times. There are solutions to maximising Z10s battery life even on stock battery.

Look at the new device monitor found on 10.2.1.537.

If display is high: reduce brightness to as low as possible and turn off gestures while screen is off.

If system is high: use taskmanager to find android apps working in the background. Kill them or delete then,

If pim is high: check your sync and email settings.

Do you research about extended battery before trying to convince people that it's the key, lots of battery is weaker than the 1800mah but still announce that they are 2800 or worst, 3800, I had one and removing the gold label that show 2800mah, guest what, underneat the label it was a battery with the capacity of 1500mah, not 2800mah like the gold label was showing. Company like seiko does create good extended battery, but those cheap found on ebay are usually scam

No mate you're wrong. Just because you had a naff experience does not apply to everyone. I have a 4500mah battery i got off Ebay for only 17 and the battery lasts at least 48hrs with normal use and 24hrs with heavy use. I would advise everyone to go ahead and DO IT. Don't listen to this guy. I couldn't be happier. The phone is bulkier but feels really good to hold and i even got a case from the EE store it that fits perfectly.

No mate it is a solution. An alternative solution. Some people like me had no so called sync or whatever bug and my stock battery was ok but with heavy use or whatever I was doing that is data intensive the battery would not last as long as I would prefer i.e. is watching videos on youtube, group discussions in BBM that can go on forever when you have 25 active members etc.. The solution? I got a bigger 4500mah battery that lasts longer and is capable of lasting all day based on my kind of use.

Now, I don't have to worry about watching videos and listening to music on my 1 hour commute to work and the 1 hour commute back so lets make that 2 hours, i dont have to worry about all the work emails I have to receive, respond to, calls I have to receive and make, texts, BBM's, social networking etc...

    It is a solution.

Some folk need to go read the definition of "fix", "solution" "work around", "fudge" etc

What the OP highlighted was a fudge or partial work around in that he now no longer has terrible battery life.

A pure fix cab only come from BlackBerry.

A solution could come from a 3rd party and be implemented by BlackBerry.

That said as fudges go the massive 4500mah battery with new back panel is a decent enough solution for anyone who doesn't mind an extended cover. plus when BlackBerry do find and fix the battery drain issue those people with the big battery are going to get truly amazing battery life.

There have been numerous photos and videos done on this subject. If you peel the label on the battery, the label underneath clearly states 1800mah. So who's fooling who?

Maybe if I start putting Lamborghini emblems on Toyota's I can sell them for 10x the price.
Anyone want to buy a Lamborghini?

Can you point me in the direction of this case.. I'd love to get this 4500 mah battery but I am terribly concerned about my Z10s health. For a year now I've had the otter box defender series on and although it has a screen protector, ive got another 30 dollar one underneath :P not even ****tin you. Does this case you got that fits benefit to protection to?

    Somethings to be clarified:

    1. Getting a larger batter is a solution. You are correct.

    2. Getting a larger battery does NOT fix the drain problem (caused due to sync problems after the OS Update)

    3. Setting Sync to manual fixes the problem.

    4. Having Synch on any other setting causes PIM to start looping and drain the battery. Only BlackBerry can solve this.

    5. Getting a non-BlackBerry official battery won't necessarily ruin your phone. But there is a higher chance of battery (and subsequently phone issues) if you buy a non-bb battery from amazon or ebay.

Lostboy, BB10 doesn't read extended battery correctly, I have the extended 3800mah battery for my Z10 and when my battery level reaches zero, it still can go on for a few more hours, meaning you can't be sure how much time you actually got left.

If you download the "Meet your device" app, it will still show 1800mah
