    I was a long time BlackBerry user that switched to Android when things looked shaky. I'm eager to come back on either the Z10 or Q10 though and thought I'd stop by CrackBerry and ask a few questions.

    What sort of encryption features are available on BB 10? Does it offer full device encryption? SD card encryption?

    I activated the encryption on my Z10 just last night. You can choose between the device and the SD card.

    Does BlackBerry Link backup an unencrypted copy of the smartphone content?

    You can choose to make your back up an encrypted version or not from BlackBerry Link.

    Sorry, don't mean to ask the silly questions around here. When you say choose between the device and SD card...you're not implying that it's one or the other are you? In other words, you can encrypt both, right?

    You can encrypt only the device, only the sd card, both at the same time, or neither. Each has its own individual toggle switch.

    Once encrypted, I can lock away restricted data, video, photos? I've done the encryption but don't know how to lock files.
