I did an OS update on my Passport and now I can't access my SDcard data because it says the card was encrypted on another device. PLEASE tell me there is a way that I can get my data off of this card.

    Did you use an autoloader?

Sorry to say, it's gone, that's BlackBerry security.

You have to decrypt the SD prior to wiping

Micheal is right. If you had done the update without wiping you would be ok. When you wipe the device, or use an autoloader the key for the SDCARD is erased.

I remember reading an encrypted SD on my computer when BlackBerry link was running... maybe something to investigate.

My OS is 10.3.2.858 and my software release is 10.3.2.556. Is that the last official BlackBerry OS update?

BTW: had to reformat SD card. Ugggh.

In that case the card was in the device, and the device presents memory to the computer as network drives. But still the key is needed if the card is encrypted (and same for device memory) and the device handles that. You would not have been able to read the card in a card reader, or read the card in mass storage mode. And when the device is wiped the info needed to read the encrypted card is wiped. That's the problem.

This is why I would like to see BlackBerry come out with an ASUS competitor in terms of 128/256 internal storage still sporting and SD slot if you choose. Nothing could be faster and convenient than that much internal memory.
