I think BlackBerry is paying them for every download on that promo. Hence, developers love to be included on that kind of promotions from blackberry.

I don't see any causation here.

The giveaways have been going on since the start of BlackBerry 10, regardless of the sales of the phones.

In fact, other than the March giveaway, there has not been much app giveaways as before.

The giveaways have always been total rubbish.

Then I see comments like "wow - great apps devs" and assume they are either 'paid for' comment or halfwits.

Take a look at the apps that Apple giveaway or google reduces to 10p
