Does it still take forever for sms history to load when texting someone? Even with the official 10.2 release?

I'm running 1791 with some older sms bars that get rid of the sms history problem. Would like to upgrade to official, but not if I have to deal with that problem again.

Takes even longer for me. It's brutal now.

Password Keeper also takes forever to display entries.

    It's a pain.

Here is the thread that has the bars to load.

You lose black background. But I'd rather have white background than wait 2 minutes to send an sms.

Any contact that you have a lot of history with seems to take a long time to load. I usually have to end the conversations and start fresh. This is really annoying. Not sure why they can't just load the last 20 messages or so and then load others as you scroll up if need be.

Everything BB10 related seems so slow compared to BBOS7. Even when I plug my phone into my computer it takes forever to see the files and do transfers. I don't understand why everything takes so long to load. Does BB10 not do indexing? I'm not much of a computer guy but indexing seems to be the way to go to cut wait/load times.

    Mine has become unbearable.

I can't even load a conversation today, so I can't even delete the messages.
When I select conversations to delete, it doesn't delete them.
Before, when I entered the conversation and ended it, it still didn't delete. I suppose I should have clicked "Clear Messages" but now I can't load the toolbar to do that (all options are black and blank).

No idea how to even approach solving this - essentially can't enter the conversation anymore, never mind delete messages.

Delete the text conversation from the hub. Long press on the message and delete.

How did this issue make it into the new software? Seems like a huge oversight, breaking the text message feature...

Maybe an "oops our bad, why don't you try BBM in the mean time?" sort of thing?

Yea I was shocked the bug still exists in 10.2. I tried tweeting the Blackberry guy but got no response. This is really my only fault with BB10.

Yes, I have an big issue with the SMS after installing official 10.2.0.1791. Absolutely, there are glitches in the SMS files. It always does not load any sms until I turn it to a landscape mode and wait for a couple of minutes. Even though I do not use SMS often, it is still annoying when I need to use it. Could someone confirm if the three bars in the thread "What OS has no text messaging lag when composing?" really help fix my issue.

Running official 10.2 1791 release with zero SMS issues, and many lengthy SMS conversations/history.

The three bars really help. I installed them and run lag free. Just sad that it's not part of the official release.

I didn't have sms issues with any leaked OS until the official. I agree! Why doesn't the official carry the good sms files that are proven okay in all previous leaks.

I'm experiencing this issue, and it's really disappointing. It's the only problem I have with my z10, but it's major. Texting is a core function.

I found the problem happened with very long threads.

BBM has fixed that problem. I send very few SMS now, most of my frequent contacts are now on BBM.

It obviously should still work flawlessly, but BBM is a great work around.

I used to delete long threads to alleviate the problem.

Yea since updating (from official to official) my texting is so laggy, key board dosnt respond. Even creating a new text is laggy and I can't type for minutes. What a joke.

Special thanks to Valdar729 and Borov5! After side loading the three BAR files, my sms work like a charm.

These are files that have glitches:
    Sys.chat 10.2.0.715
    Sys.chatblend 10.2.0.681
    (come with official OS 10.2.0.1791)

I replace the above files by:-
    Sys.chat 10.2.0.433
    Sys.chatblend 10.2.0.645
    (files that work flawlessly)
