Anyone here interested in BB10 slider phone? I personally do like slider more, i like the torch series and i wouldnt mind getting one if BlackBerry decides to come out with one. I prefer sliding upward more to sliding sideward. Who else?

Only if it's a slider version of the Q10.

When the Torch was announced, I was super-excited and couldn't wait for it to be released. But after only a few minutes hands-on, I walked out of the store because the keyboard was so tiny and unusable for me. And the "lip" below the spacebar is just awful. Any time I have to do cellphone tech support for my parents, who each have a Torch, it feels like the polar ice caps are going to melt faster than I can get something correctly typed on that keyboard!

I'm not even sure it's possible to make a slider with a decent keyboard, and still have the form-factor be reasonable.

Of course. I don't see how anyone wouldn't, you get a screen size the size of touch only phones and you also get a keyboard, all more or less in the size of a touch only phone. This is the BB10 phone I'm waiting for, I don't understand why anyone would settle or compromise when you can get both. I think the people who complain about the keyboard size of the 9810 are over exaggerating because it's a good keyboard, sure it's not as big as the keyboard on the 9900 but it's still a good keyboard. Either way, Blackberry could make a BB10 slider phone with a keyboard that's bigger than the 9810.

I've loved sliders. Perfect form factor. Keys and large screen. Perfect. At least technically.

A spring loaded magnesium 4.2" slider would be a winner IMO.

As long as it was portrait and not landscape...a Q10 kb with a Z10 screen would be ideal.

    Yes.

A Q slider would do just fine. Make it a little thicker and jam in a huge battery! Would do nicely!

Thought I did, I loved my 9810. But now I'm not so sure anymore, got used to the Z10 and can't look back.

Coming from a Torch myself and always using some type of QWERTY physical keyboard, I'm now on a z10 and not looking back.

I picked a Torch in the first place for the maximized screen size (compared to the original bold 9700) and getting the physical keyboard in the same device. I hated typing on my virtual keyboard on my Torch .. just despised it even in landscape mode. That's why I loved and chose the Torch device.. best of both worlds.

Now since the z10 and it's awesome keyboard .. don't need the physical keyboard anymore and I can now focus on the larger screen realestate which is real real nice.

I can basically hammer out any words with 2 thumbs and let the auto-correct take over.. I'm amazed how it virtually (no pun intended) corrects all my words on the fly. Typing with one thumb if needed, the flick words makes my typing really quick.. the typing rhythm isn't as great but I can get the sentences out surpringly fast.

For me screen size has always won out over the physical keyboard, but the virtual keyboard in the past was SO terrible!. It's a dream on the Z...

However, others may not value these aspects of a phone the way I do, IMO.

If they could put the guts of the Z into the body of a 9800 or 9810(I know they are the same), I would so jump all over that. Even after just getting my Z only 1 month ago.

Well I do love the Z10 keyboard but I would love to be able to type without the keyboard taking up 50% of the screen, so I think I would love a slider even though I never had a Torch.

The compromise is physical heft, which could be offset by precise engineering and space age material.

Yes, would love a Z10 slider, but keyboard design will be critical. The lip on the 9800 and 9810 keyboard was the biggest flaw with those devices.

And thus we would have a BlackBerry that justifies the astronomical price tag! ;-)

I'm not a fan of sliders, but at work I and my boss have Z10s and two other guys say the Q10 isn't their style but they would make the change for a slider so they can have screen real estate and a physical keyboard.

I was a 9700/9780 user for a while and was so pumped about the torch. Had the 9800 and the 9810 and loved the concept. But I quickly moved on to the 9900. Reason: the keyboard was Crap. If they do it with the q10 or 9900 "buttery" keyboard as others have pointed out, I'd be all in!

Count me in for a portrait slider. I'd really like to have a physical keyboard, but the Q10 screen is just way too small.

I was rough on my 9800 and it held up for the 2 years. I would love to have another slider, as long as it has the Q10 keyboard.

Unless Samsung comes up with one.

Oooh the distinctive micro-grating sound a slider makes when you flick it up followed by the scatterings of physical keypresses.
