Wondered if it's just me, a right-handed Q owner, but I don't think I ever used the right handed shift key on my Q10...the numbers I still press with my right thumb and even the # and *

That's probably the reason you use the left shift.

ok, from this mini, utterly non-representative poll we can conclude Blackberry can get rid if it in the next qwerty device (which seems to be the case)

On the $ key. I also barely use it, have also put a word substitution for $$ to produce EUR sign so that both are readily available without opening the symbols keyboard

I rarely use any shift key. Long press does it for me.

Any lefties here? Maybe they use the right shift key.

I type blindfold most of the time, rarely looking on the keyboard (comes gartanteed after using curve/Bold/Q for more than 10 years). When I have to write a capital letter with the left thumb, I use the right shift key. So, YES (and it has been written this way!)

Never have in all my years of using a blackberry keyboard... the weird thing is that I also press the alt key whenever I press the $ key.

I wish they'd replace the right-shift key with an ESCape key for use with vi/vim when I am connected to a remote Unix server.
