    I sometime fingers it cumbersone to have to swipe up and the press the X to close an app.

    How about a gesture that would directly close the app???

    Swipe up frame to frame could be good for this a guess.

    Yeah, I agree. Maybe when we are swiping an application up, a "kill zone" appears with message, keep swiping up to close this app. So, if you drop this app into the kill zone, it gets closed. Rough mock-up below:

    I catch myself trying to do this often, as that is an existing method for closing apps on the PlayBook. For whatever reason they just didn't adopt it into bb10.

    Guess I was CB10'ing too early this morning. I misread.

    On the PlayBook it's one swipe up to minimize the app, and THEN you can swipe it up to close it.

    Yup, but is not used consistently and there is mismatch often with three dot menu , MeeGo solution is better.
