I'm trying to figure this out too. From what I've been reading so far it seems as though the radio in this update is older. Not sure how that affects the average user as didn't see a difference in quality moving from official 10.2 to 10.2.1.1925 leak before.

I haven't tried my phone yet on 10.2.1.537 official so we'll see.

It would be nice to know if there are any noticeable diferences.
I'm running the leak OS 10.2.1.1925 (537) for the past 2 weeks (I have my Z10 since 2 weeks and a half).
Just checked if there is a SW update through the device, but it says I'm up to date (it's an unlocked Z10). Haven't tried BBLink. But if there are no real differences, I might just stick to the Leak that it's running nice and smooth.

    Cheers!

1925 and 1055 has the issue where I can use the camera for a while (i.e., I go out on construction jobsites and take observation report pictures), and if I have to minimize the camera app to read an incoming email, when I try to go back to the camera, the screen is stuck on showing only the camera app icon. If I close the app and restart it, I get a "camera can't be started" error.

I'm not the first to see this. There are several threads in these forums about it.

The only thing I can do is reboot the phone, which is kind of a pain standing there holding the volume buttons down for about 15 seconds or so while the job superintendent is talking to me.

Once the phone is done rebooting, the camera works again. At least until I have to stop again and try to get back in it. Then it's reboot time all over again.

I tried loading one of the 12xx something camera bars posted here (one that still has face detection - the one in 1925 lost it), but it still errors out. Also, spot metering doesn't work either. It will spot focus, but not adjust for light anymore.

Using the camera for short periods, like taking a few shot, then closing out doesn't seem to trigger the error. You have to be using it non-stop for several minutes it seems. Then, if you get out, you can't get back in.

I'm going to try to duplicate the error. I've never gotten it before, but I haven't really left my camera open for long periods.

Has it just been on 10.2.1 or earlier builds as well?

About Build ID, it seems that the official 1925 release (and thus the one leaked in December), the anomaly 1925 release built in January and even 10.2.1.1940 (or at least the simulator) all have the same build ID, 648923.

    Just with the 10.2.1 builds.

Spot metering also doesn't work. Spot focusing does, but light doesn't compensate like it did in 10.2.0 and older builds.

I actually tried loading one of the 12xx (1259, I think) camera bars that SirJes posted a while back - the one with face detection, but it also gives me the same error and spot metering problems. I'm still using that bar at the moment.

Sorry, I've been trying to recreate the error for 15 minutes. Had the camera open, taking pictures, opening emails, using CB. And nothing. I've got the camera that came with 1925 (the auto update downgraded me from sirjes' face-detection overnight *facepalm*)

If you haven't already, try starting a new thread with the issue and there might be a specific setting that you are using that others aren't that's causing the error.

Same version number. Are there reasons to believe there would be differences between the unofficial and the official?

That's the carrier app. The one that you use if want to check your account in rogers.

My baby girl is 17 days old today. Exciting times for first time parent - pathetic times as BlackBerry Z10 user. Camera freezes same as above and if a call comes in between and you lose the perfect moment which isn't coming back...now I carry a Sony point and shoot in pocket all the time.

But hey BlackBerry is holy ****. Pardoned for being holy ****.

Sounds like you need to reload the OS. It's not uncommon for OS updates over OTA to not have installed correctly. Sorry it had to be at such an inopportune time.

Oh and.....I guess congrats on becoming a new parent. Best thing that ever happen to me.
