i am from hyderabad , when i check the updates fro my airtel , it shows no updates available , but where'as when i check using my vodafone sim it shows updates available , does airtel even pushing updates !!

Try Sachesi with 234 and 10., not with your carrier and country codes, some one in this thread already succeeded with Sachesi.

I am on Airtel Chennai. I tried my wife's aircel sim also but no updates in both network so I used an old UK sim (which doesn't even connect to network) and downloaded 10.2 update OTA through my home wi-fi :-) :-) Just took me few clicks on check for update button in settings - software update to get the update notification.

Why don't you try taking out your Sim card and connecting through the wifi. I think that should do the trick.
