We all know that bb10 comes with 16gig internal storage. My photos, music, videos, etc only use about 90MB of it, and my apps 2gig. My free storage space is only 619MB??? So my question is what using the remaining 13+gig of memory and is there a way get some of that back?
I also have installed a 32gig sd card

Z10, if I remove the remaining media files it won't make a big difference. It will be only 90MB removed

In APP MANAGER - it shows a break down of data, minus "other data" which is not yet broken out. Apps, e-mail/hub data can make up a large portion especially if you have chosen to sync more than 30 days.

What's your breakdown of data from there?

Now that the accounts are setup - how can I change the number of days to sync on the device?

I can't now seem to find that setting again.

Depending on the type of account, imap, pop3, EAS etc you need to delete the account, add it again and the setting is there for 'initial retrieval time frame '. If you have a busy email account, it's not a good idea to set it to forever. If you download ten years worth of emails and you get 10,000 a year, it'll cause a lot of memory usage. I think an option to have emails stored on SD card would be nice.

You can't. Delete accounts, restart phone, re-add using advanced mode at bottom and change "initial load" to "forever"...

I think other data is installed apps. Get rid of some of the big ones you don't use anymore.

What would this have to do with the storage space? I'm curious because I have used atorrent quite frequently and I'm very low on storage space myself.

I had something similar happen. Try backing up all the files on your SD card to your PC. Then have your phone reformat the SD card.

After that, I was able to reload all my files and I didn't have any further problems with phantom files eating up my memory space

Don't know the cause, just sharing a possibility.

    Hope it helps.

Well from what I can see on your screen grab, 15g is being used by your other apps...also you seem to be saving everything on your device memory. switch to your memory card and i'm willing to bet it's nearly empty.

Subscribed, I have the same issue, in other threads the only answer is to do a security wype, hope to find another solution...

anyway I get to free a lot of space with the ghost commander, that app let you see all the folders and you will find a lot of useless data in the sideloaded apps folders, deleted apps that leave files behind after being deleted, big log files, etc., but that only got me about 1.5 GB, I still have about 4 GB that I don't know what are.

I had a similar issue with the OP. Had my storage down to just a few MB when i downloaded a few torrent files. Not sure, but it's probably because some other files that we don't know about are also being saved in your phone. Had to wipe to get the lost storage space.

As I already said. Uninstall big apps. Real racing, batman, modern combat 4, asphalt 7.

These game installs are all over 1 GB so if you have many of them your phone will be toast!

Deleted 3 email accounts and still have 5.5gb of 'Other Data'. That's exactly the same as before I deleted the accounts. Months worth of emails and no size difference.

Decided to have a clear out to see if I could work out what apps were hogging space.

Built in Box and Dropbox hold a couple hundred mb combined.

Facebook was holding 100mb or so.

9gag was also holding about 100mb.

Twitter was holding in the region of 700mb!!!!!!

Got rid of a few more apps that I wasn't using and. Got another couple hundred mb too.

All of these according to BlackBerry World were only taking up a small amount of space.

We need to have a way of clearing out any cache for the apps we have - Twitter especially. Cannot delete BBmaps, Adobe, BBM or docs to go so not sure how I can delete their cache.

Doing all of the above I managed to claw back about 1.3gb of space.
