I encrypted my device and media card just to know how it works and...I'm having a few doubts.
First of all, now the whole existing data is encrypted. My doubt is whether the data I add into it from now onwards will also be encrypted...?
And secondly, regarding the media card, will it be accessible in a pc via a card reader..?
Thirdly, I would like to know whether from now onwards autosinc in box and Dropbox will occur?

Make a backup of your device and SD, and decrypt if you need to wipe the device.. ( just a recommendation)

Yes, any data you add will be subsequently encrypted. That's why it takes a longer time if you save something to your encrypted SD card.

No, it won't be accessible in a PC via a card reader. It can however be accessed if you use your device as a mass storage and plug it in your PC.

Autosync will still occur but it now takes a bit longer than usual since it encrypts every single file.

    You're welcome.

Personally I don't encrypt my SD card since I don't have any delicate files in it and also it takes a longer time to save stuff and you need to decrypt it first before you (for any reason) wipe your device.

That's why I only turn on encryption on my device and NOT on my SD card to avoid such hassles.

damn. I just majorly f***ed up. wiped my Z30 before decrypting media card. This was the first time I ever encrypted my card because I KNEW I would forget to decrypt before upgrading to the latest/greatest leak.

So, my question is (even though I think I already know the answer); is there any way to recover data from this card? my almost 4-month-old daughters ONLY Halloween pictures are on this card, so needless to say...

Sorry for you, but no. Even the cuteness of your girl cannot open this secure vault.

I haven't check in 10.3 but in previous OS builds the option to use your device as USB mass storage gets disabled when you encrypt the card. You have to go through Link's mapped drives to your SD card of you want file system access to an encrypted SD card.

In 10.3.1, when you connect an encrypted device (+ sd card)on to a computer, some options will arise on the phone and one of the options is to access the sd card as mass storage.

Also I noticed if I try to play videos or pictures over DLNA and they are encrypted they will not play on your TV or device. This was through the playon feature and then choosing a DLNA device on the network.

Beat my head over this for an hour until I realised my files were encrypted. I decrypted them and they were then able to play.
