Current PlayBook apps compatibility
Are current PlayBook apps going to be compatible with the new BB10 OS on Playbooks, even if they don't take advantage of all of the features?

in most cases, probably. There are sometimes issues with any OS where OS changes require minor app updates. For example, Bard's Tale became really slow on 2.1, but that was fixed with an update.
