Looking for some help here on something, maybe I'm missing it.

A couple issues with my Z10 regarding contacts.

1. I transferred my contacts from my bb 9900 to my z10. I'm having a hard time linking some of them with their social media handles. If a contact's name in my phone is not identical to their facebook name or twitter name (or vice versa), it will not link up with them! I will go in to edit the contact type in their facebook name, or twitter name and nothing will happen! It will not pull any info. When I go in and try to add a link, all that pops up is my phonebook contact link, I can't go in and select any twitter or fb data.

2. When typing text messages, when i press compose and type in "Michael" for example, it will populate all the Michael's in my phone, on facebook and on twitter! On top of that, it will make them separate entries based on multiple phone numbers, emails etc! It's incredibly annoying. I don't mind linking the FB contacts with my respective phonebook contacts, but people who I have on facebook and not on my phone, I don't want to see them show up in my lists when sending a text! How do I set it up so the text message app only goes based on my CONTACTS only and not social media as well?

dont mean to thread jack but another contact issue im having is whenever i switch from favourites/bbm video back to all contacts, the screen blanks out until any input is given.

anyone else experiencing this

For 2 you can delete all those contacts from the contacts app, the will not show anymore when composing any type of messages

Have you tried manually adding links? Contacts > select contact > press links > press add link >select the multiple link..

From contacts, if you pull down, hit options, select what type of contacts you want displayed.

For #1, this may not be the full story but I've noticed for my affected fb contacts that it's the ones without an email address or phone number as part of their visible profile info that are not being transferred to the phone.

Hey all,

Thanks for the replies..looks like there's no definitive answer for either. I just don't understand how blackberry has set it up so we can manually put in social media information but it will not get pulled when we do. If someone's contact name and fb name are not identical it will not work. When I go to add a link it just reopens my contacts list and does nothing.

As for the 2nd issue...I'm going to try wiping my phone and seeing what happens.

mine just randomly erases phone numbers of the contacts...cannot see a pattern yet

I have issue #2 that the OP has as well and would like to know how to solve it also. In the contacts app, I have "turned off" all of the accounts I don't want showing up and they don't show up in the contacts app itself. They only show up when composing a text message.
