Ok so importing and linking your contacts on BB10 couldnt possbibly be harder / more frustrating.

When importing my contacts, it imports everyone from my address book, bbm, facebook and twitter so now I basically have over 1000 people on my list, none of them are linked together so there is duplicates and triplicates everywhere......great, time to start linking.

1. I filter the list to show only my 'local contacts'. I click on one, click links and try to add their facebook link. WELL, the list of links is also filtered to whatever filters you set up initially. So i have to go back and select to show facebook which instantly increases my list by 300 people.

2. Whichever link you have at the top of the list is ALWAYS the information it shows and you cant change it. For example, i go into my bbm list of contacts and start linking their respective facebooks, etc to that. Well now that BBM is the first link and facebook is the 2nd link and the local contact is the third link.....it will always show their BBM name which more often than not is a stupid handle or whatever. Even if you edit the name, it will revert back to the details from whatever link is at the top of the list. Wanna reorder the list, see #1 and good luck. Sometimes when you are linking, the link wont even show up on your list also.

3. When you select the filters in the contacts app, it doesnt do anything, you have to shut down the app and restart it.

4. If i filter my contacts list and go into the phone app, it shows every single contact with a phone number again, it doesnt show your filtered list....makes no sense.

If anyone has any advice for how to properly add contacts and link them please help me, im literally at my wits end with the way this thing handles contacts.
What should i do, delete all my contacts? Re-add them all through my email address book. Even if i do that, linking them to their facebook, bbm and twitter accounts is a nightmare.

It is indeed a puzzling app. The Link transfer fiasco does put contacts somewhere you cannot figure out and they randomly appear as double. Full wipe and OS reload planned for the weekend.

Really worried now that you think a full WIPE and OS update is coming this weekend. I can't backup my Z10 with BlackBerry Link (maybe resulting from the side-loaded apps on my phone) and worry that I'm going to have to re-download and configure my Z10 from scratch if this is indeed the case.

1. Un filter everything and start linking. Your being dramatic. Most people will be close together. Having there names across multiple apps all the same. If you don't like it then don't sync your Facebook. Pretty shur a lot of my contacts got linked automatically because the people used the same email or something.

2. No idea what your talking here. The name and picture doesn't follow the order of the links. I think there's a pre determined order for what gets priority as picture and name. I tried renaming a contact and switching the picture and it worked, stayed that way.

3 and 4 that's not how mine works. Filters right away soon as you go back. And the filters carey over into the phone app.
