    Default Contact List

    Hi guys,

I used the Device Switch method to take the contact info from my 9700 on to the Z10. But god knows from where, my Z10 picked up all this extra information and emails which I don't think I've used in years. Anyway, after a whole day of just deleting and linking (basically sorting) contact info, I was finally done.

But now I see that the same information has come back to the phone again and the names are not being saved as I save them, but as they are in a person's BBM. Like my mum's name isn't mum, its coming up as her actual name. This is so strange! Please help me solve this issue. Thanks!

Try checking your Contacts/Settings (swipe down from the main Contacts screen). You can turn off Contacts display from Facebook etc.

Nope, so that isn't the problem. The problem lies somewhere with BBM and not with Facebook because the contact list keeps reverting the names back to the BBM names. Moreover, the contacts that I deleted have now suddenly reappeared again. Its really strange!!

I noticed a similar thing for the first few days, but for some reason after changing them a couple of times the alterations, links, and tweaks that I made to the contact list have stuck. There doesn't appear to be any reason for it to have worked, because like a true mad person, I simply kept doing the same thing over and over again. The only thing that I can suggest is perhaps make sure you're only pulling in a single contact book. At one point I suspected that it was a problem with google contacts vs my work exchange contacts. So I turned the exchange ones off... the problem was present before and seemed to be there after, however that's the only small change I made and in the end something started working for me. Hope you find your fix... it was driving me crazy until it stopped.

This was a huge frustration for me too. I've had to go through and relink contacts multiple times and do updates to their "card". Finally after doing it about 4 times it seems to have "sticked", but still a very annoying process. Likely something that needs to be fixed in a future update.
