Question:
With the new contact exceptions in 10.3.1 I am having troubles finding an explanation as to whether or not you can make a contact exception for an individual profile (ex. Silent). Right now it seems that I can make an exception but it will apply to all profiles (Phone calls only, Vibrate, Silent etc..) as oppose to just one specific profile (ex. Silent). Any insight or a point in the right direction would be most appreciated.

Contact customizations over ride profile settings, or at least that's what BlackBerry indicates on the Notification screen.

No, they over ride all profiles.

I believe you can set the notification in for the contact in all profiles. If you want it to ring in the silent profile, set the that contact accordingly in the silent profile. I know that's how it worked legacy devices. I never understood why you would want that as there may be times that you would want even that contact silent and so I haven't looked for it in bb10.

If the,above is not the case then I'm pretty sure I've seen that you can set selected contacts to always notify.

Ya that seems kinda pointless to have then. What if you want a contact to override Bedside mode or Vibrate but not Meeting mode or Silent. I def don't want my phone ringing while in a meeting...
