Once in a while I do some gesture that sends email. I think you slide the windows sideways. Is there some way to only send email when you hit the send button?

There is no gesture to send an email, only the send button on screen sends email. The only gestures available while composing an email are swipe left to right to go back to hub and swipe up or right to left to leave the hub/email and go back to you're home screens.

If you're sending email, you're hitting the send button.

Download Email++ from bbworld and give I a try. It has a 'regret' feature for email,.. as long as you realize it quick enough.

If they can make it an option, sure. Otherwise, the standard press-to-send works for most (including me) I believe.

No thanks. That would make shooting multiple back to back emails at my work a living nightmare.

My trick I learned years ago ... I compose the whole email before I ever put in any addresses. So I have a draft I can fully review and change as needed. No addresses means it can't accidentally be sent. This has been a lifesaver for me.

Of course, but your original post makes it sound like with a gesture the phone is possibly re-sending some old email, or generating and sending an email somehow. It was not clear to me that you meant you had composed the email, and not wanted to send it, but then inadvertently did send it via some gesture. I understand now.
