A little bit of a unique situation but I want to temporarily disable my son's z30 from receiving texts. It's exam week and he needs to execute these exams. He actually asked me if there was a way to do it without turning off the Mobile Network.

We just want to stop all sms messages from coming in for this week. Weird request I know but he can get bombarded with texts. He deleted his BBM and will reinstall after exams (He's shooting for an academic scholarship) and since we can't delete the sms functionality I was wondering if we could just disable sms.

Thanks in advance to all that reply.

You could set SMS to not appear in the hub, and can turn off visual and audible notifications. Out of sight, out of mind?

I assume you know how to change notification settings within each of your profiles.

For the Hub, go into it, select settings from 3 dots, select Hub Management, select text messages, select "show in separate account only".

And if your carrier allows it, you can turn off sms direct from your account and then re initiate it when all is done. Just a matter of going into your device management on your account page.

Out of curiosity, in 'Text Message Settings' what is 'Auto Retrieval Mode' and what's the difference between always, never and home?

Call your carrier. They can likely suspend SMS.
