Hello my loyal bb users

I have a problem and hoping I could get some much needed help from one of you bb geniuses. Basically what i'm trying to do is typing the number on my blackberry classic device instead of scrolling down on the trackpad and actually searching for it but it doesn't pick up the number although the number is still in the call log but the catch is that its not a saved number from my contacts. so how can i retrieve the number without scrolling down in the call log to retrieve it. i just want to type the number so that the phone picks it up but it doesn't do that. let me know any help is much appreciated. Why would your phone pick up a number that is not in your contacts? Either store it as a new contact or grab it from the recent calls which is your call log.

ure missing the point. i dont want it to grab by searching for it in a very lengthy call log list. the phone should be able to pick it up once i start typing few numbers

It does. When I start typing a number in the dialer it says "X matching numbers found". I select the down arrow and it shows me them all.

They come from my saved contacts. As you type more numbers, the list gets refined.

That's my point of this thread. it only picks up saved contacts. I want it to be able to pick up numbers which were dialed recently by typing into them instead of actually saving them

You can't. It's that simple.

I see. You want the device to only kind of remember a number.

Go to HUB and search for number with only the first couple of digits. They all pop up. Filter just by calls for added results.

I would hardly qualify this rare use case as a "major glitch".
