I think the z10 used to get in the 14-1500's then 10.1 bumped it to 1700ish which is better than the s3 which has a quad.

    Ex:
    Z10 - Geekbench Browser

Now, that one is on 10.2 but is a known leak however, take a took at this:

    Z10 - Geekbench Browser

    Four Things:
    1. Look at the date
    2. Look at the versions, both os and geekbench
    3. Look at the processor, it's an 800mhz dual core not the 1.5 that's shown on the other. Could a slower processer have higher score?
    4. It was mentioned in the waiting room thread, so maybe something else behind it?

2k is an extremely excellent (hyperbole needed) score.

It's in the same leage as this year's quad core phones such as the lg nexus 4, xperia z, and note 2.

In fact, the only two to beat it would be the one with 2700 and the s4 with 3400.

However, this is a dual core suggesting bb10 is atleast twice as efficient/fast as android.

    --
The unthinkable would be that Bbry has some kind of os that's 4 times faster than android and more than double current which would explain the low clock speed ARM, but I think that would be almost impossible?

    What's everyone's take on this?

I'm on the 10.2.x.228 right now, and after syncing over 200 emails, sideloading 5-10 apps, and a bunch more on app world it's at 91% and off the charger at 6 am.

It's safe to say there're major changes in 10.2 is a huge speed increase one of them?

(Kris got 1785 as well I think, that upload may as well be him)

One explanation could be the new android runtime, and it's just falsely reporting the clock speed but that there is a speed bump (to be expected)

You can't draw any conculsions about the processor itself from the second result. The second result is from Geekbench 2.4.2 which couldn't determine the processor frequency. Geekbench 2.4.3 (used for the first result) fixed this problem.

Geekbench is a native BlackBerry 10 application, so improvements to the Android runtime will have no effect on Geekbench scores.

Thought it was still an android port, ok excellent then.

I'll take to the net, and talk about the fact that a bb10 phone with a 2012 dual core matches or beats droids with 2013 quads.

Android runs like **** on dual cores lol....

Just tried it with stock 10.1.0.1720 OS and got 1741. Pretty cool software, especially when it shows the power of BB10 >. I wonder what the A10 will be at.

I guess you never heard of optimizing an OS or platform for a particular benchmark.

People should probably spend less time fixating on benchmark numbers and more time looking at the big picture.

Tomorrow something else will beat your previous numbers and then the hand-wringing repeats, ad-infinitum.

I'm curious -- why do you think it's an Android port? Is there anything we can do to make Geekbench for BB10 feel more like a BB10 app? We're new to the platform, so we're still learning what works (and what doesn't) on the BB10.
