    Can the BB10 calendar automatically provide reminders for contacts that have their birthday field info. I don't want the facebook reminder but only for the ones I actually input into the contacts app? If not has anyone found that field even do anything?

    I don't think it sends a reminder based on that field in your contacts app. If you put it on your calendar it will remind you....
    I dunno. I would have to try with a Google calendar and see....

    I was just thinking this the other day. I had added the birthdays of my nearest and dearest into the contacts app, but unfortunately, the contacts app and the calendar app are not very tightly integrated so it doesn't give reminders.

    Would be nice if it did.

    Have you considered making a post about it on the icanmakeitbetter website?

    I believe if you use hotmail you can. As long as you sync your contact info with hotmail. It creates a birthday calender. Although it could be just left over from my BBOS days

    This was definitely a feature of the BBOS on my Torch 9800 & my 9850. I wish they would tightly integrate the calendar & contacts apps in BB10 so it will work like this again. For right now, I think the only way to accomplish this is use either Gmail or Facebook.

    I just downloaded the MeeBirthday app. Have not tried it yet but it appears to be built for this missing feature.
