So BBM Groups has been acting up for me today. My messages in group chat are randomly disappearing and being rearranged.

I type something in the hub and see it show up in the chat, then i go to the bbm app and the message isn't there. Other messages/conversations that happened hours ago are also disappearing or getting reorganized. For example if someone typed something at 10 am, and then a long conversation followed, that original message now shows up as the latest one with a timestamp of 1 pm (as an example). And the conversation that followed is missing bits and pieces. That is, with 7 ppl in the chat, if person 1 started a conversation and person 2 and 3 added to it, now person 1's initial comment is showing up as the latest comment (including false notifications in the hub for "new" messages) while person 2's comments have disappeared and person 3's comments are in the wrong place making it a totally incoherent conversation.

I've had issues with phantom notifications before but this is the first time messages have vanished or been jumbled up.

Anyone experiencing something similar?

hmm not really, but you might want to ensure your group members have set their time zone on their devices correctly.

I had that issue. The person with the message that keeps showing needs to end the chat. Happens when you don't have your time set to "automatic". If you change your time and send a message it will keep doing that.

Its not a time zone issue. My messages are disappearing as soon as i exit the chat screen and get back to the group home screen.




As seen above, my message between vicky's "Hi" and Cauci's "???" disappeared. As soon as i slide back to the group homescreen, where it shows the Chat/Pics/List/Calender view, my messages are gone.

Sorry can you elaborate? How do i end the chat? and how do i set time to "automatic"?

You need to go into your settings under date and time. Should be automatic for everyone's phones. My friend had his 30 seconds off so his messages were appearing above ours even though he sent them after.

Thanx for the info, but it appears i already have it set to automatic. Problem still exists.

Also something of note, this only appears to be happening on one group. Another group im in is functioning just fine.

I've left the group and rejoined but the issue continues.

It could be caused by a member in that particular group. Their time stamps need to be in sync as well

Agreed. It might be everyone else in the group that don't have their times correct. For me it was the one person whose messages were jumping around that had the time wrong, but everyone else could have the wrong times which would explain why yours are off. If it's the same group of friends that you're having the problem with then that's probably the case.
