Bluetooth might not work properly on 10.3.x.
This has been a known issue since over a year, and BB ist still not able to tell if and when a fix will get released and whether or not 10.3.3 will fix the problem.

I will have to decide to return my new Passport SE within the next 3 days (still on 10.3.2, seriously suffering from BT problems), so may I ask for real life feedback from 10.3.3 users? Does it pair with your BT devices flawlessly, and stay connected? Which devices/cars do you use?

At least, I want to alert those who are still considering to buy a BB10 device, that there might be a serious BT problem. And, to put some pressure onto BB to act professionally, and to fix the problem a.s.a.p.

I haven't had any issues either from a Bluetooth perspective. I'm still on 10.3.2 by the way.

This may explain many of the posts and threads that we have seen over the last year or more regarding Bluetooth problems. I personally have not had any problems, but I don't use it that often and everything bluetoothy I have seems to behave. However, I do believe people are having problems because I have a neighbor with a Classic who is pulling his hair out with a connection in his car. It seems to cut in and out regularly. Too bad nothing has been done about it (since Sep 2015 or so) and at this point, it looks like maybe nothing will be done about it. It would be nice if BB could look at the problem again and place a fix in 10.3.3.xxxx or .3.4. Wishful thinking!

I started having issues awhile back (probably when I went to 10.3.2!). Unfortunately, I never noticed this knowledge base issue.

I am currently having a BT connectivity issue with my Kenwood KDC-X500 car receiver. I have 4-5 other bluetooth devices that I haven't had a real issue with. But the Kenwood (other models I've had no problems with, bought this one after going to 10.3.2) regularly connects but doesn't play audio. I have to delete and re-pair (time consuming pain in the neck) or play a wav file from my email and change the output device in there to reset the audio output from the phone to play over BT. Very strange, and it doesn't always solve the issue.

Here's some recent complaints that could be related..

When I try to connect my Q5 (on 10.3.2.2836) with my tablet or anyone's phone, it never connect at the first trying. Always on the second or third trying. No matter I am always reachable.

But when I connect with my bluetooth headphones, it always connects immediately. And stays connected all the time.

    I am using Plantronics Explorer 50. https://forums.crackberry.com/e?link...token=wBXVJSo5

Never figured why is this happening with the other devices.

Thanks everybody. This reflects my impression: it works with some devices, with others it doesn't.

    To complete the information:
I'm using a Passport SE with the latest 10.3.2 - version
My car is a Volkswagen Tiguan. It pairs, connects, but disconnects after a few minutes. In most cases, there is no chance to reconnect it.
My BT headset is a Plantronics ML20. It always disconnects after 1 or 2 minutes.
I'm also using these new Bose in ear BT headphones. They connect, and so far seem to stay connected.

As per now, I think I'll rather return my Passport, as I only have a few days left to do so. Once the return period has expired, I can only bring it in for 'repair', which a) will take several weeks and b) is pointless in this particular case.

My only concern is, that IF they (BB) ever decide to fix this problem, the PP might no longer be available. And I would really like to onw one.....

Based upon my experiences, and bb's own blog post, and on all the other posts in the forum, it now seems to be apparent that BB10 has a serious problem with Bluetooth, from 10.3.2 and upwards, and 10.3.3 did not fix the problem. Actually it made it worse for some users.

I personally would refrain from buying any BB10 devices for the time being, until BlackBerry very clearly acknowledges the problem and commits to fix it.

I'm afraid they won't care a lot about BB10 sales though.

I've never had any issues with Bluetooth *prior to* 10.3.3. It worked flawlessly with my car - instant connections, crystal clear audio, phone book and call log access, etc.

Since the very moment I updated it to 10.3.3, all sorts of problems started, the worst of them being that on outgoing calls the other party can't hear me even though I hear them fine. This doesn't happen on all calls, but frequently enough to make it useless. Besides that, sometimes the phone just won't connect to the car at all, and other times it will connect but won't sync phone book and calls list.

I curse the day I let it update to 10.3.3 as before that it worked like a charm. If reflashing the OS with autoloader doesn't fix it, soon I may be forced to go back to Z10.

    For the records:

I got a replacement phone from my dealer. It came with 10.3.2.2474. I rejected the upgrade to 10.3.2.2836 (still no 10.3.3 for me - maybe a blessing, based on the many BT related problems that are being reported).

So far, no problems at all. The headset, the car and the headphones connect, stay connected, and work flawlessly. With the previous phone, which I upgraded to 10.3.2.2836 right during initial setup, the problems occurred instantly.

I think I will not upgrade, neither to 2836 nor to 10.3.3. But I don't like the idea of never upgrading again, just because the producer of the device does not move to fix the problem. The dealer agreed on a 30 days grace period, maybe I'll return it. But maybe a miracle happens, and BB decides to acknowledge and to address the problem.

I had issues with the bluetooth on my passport. Factory unlocked, bought from amazon. I was running 10.3.2 and all was fine. Went to 10.3.3 and the issues started showing up. My stereo in my car wouldn't receive map directions, my bluetooth headphones wouldn't connect, my windows 10 laptop wouldn't connect, ect. Then the update came out and I blitzed to the newest version. Bluetooth problems are now all fixed. So I'd reccomend updating to the newest version if your having issues.
