This is gonna be a long one...hehe. so the new Z10 is released and in my opinion, a very beautiful device but as usual with many "buts". That's a common thing though but the buts are too strong in this case.
Starting with the OS, I for one love the idea and the multitasking but would have thought that after spending years in silence and losing ground, an outstanding product would be released...there are videos on YouTube showing how the OS gives javascript errors and how the browser lags despite its speed.sometimes crashes while trying to use maps indicating GPS errors. All these have been termed as instability. No aerial view and 3d maps, etc. Camera lacks panorama scene mode and does poorly in low light when compared with its competitors. The iphone 5opens up apps faster, blah blah blah. For heaven's sakes, the z10 ships with very good hardware and so it defo cant be the problem . I've just seen videos comparing it with the lumia, sgs3 and iphone5....and all these errors were attributed to the instability of the OS and also that some features can be upgraded if theres an upgrade of the OS.

Email: Idon't see why we cant have the email apps downloaded as we always did...using the hub isnt something I fancy(dont know about you). We want direct access to our mail folders and nit just to read and send mails, from the app, one could go through all the folders without having to log in via the browser. We wanna have AOL, gmail, yahoo and any other existing ones.

Z10 and Q10 batteries: as with other full touch devices, except the iphone 5, it has become a standard to use a 2000 or 2100 mAh battery, particularly considering the screensize, ,resolution and gestures....I simply do not understand why the z10 gets a 1800mAh and the Q10 gets the supposedly stronger and better battery knowing that the former is a full touch device...as this adds to its weaknesses.

As for the app ecosystem, I think the developers are just not doing well enough, blackberry has finally returned with a friendly os as described by many so I dont see any reason why theres a delay in developing the major apps. We dont need 700,000apps. We only need 200,000decent ones that exist on other platforms so the fans can shut their mouths. I have delayed getting the z10 and although I'm aware that I will at some point cos I always want and need a bb, but I wish I could be forced into trading my sgs3 and have just one phone. I use both now and understand that no one phone can do it all but im sure theres a standard that would be acceptable and I know that if bb gets this right, I won't need a second phone...considering that they have the bb balance feature, security amidst other things.

Right now, bb is playing catch up....so why leave out these things and expect to compete.as it stands, the new os and devices will only do well in getting existing bb customers to upgrade their phones and will do less in attracting andriod, ios and even wp8 users to cross over(my opinion) but I really wanna see bb succeed and bring in that competition.
