I have BlackBerry Link installed and working on my Windows 7 work laptop.

Whenever I am not connected via ethernet, I notice the built in Intel dual band WiFi is disabled. I know from experience that the BlackBerry software is causing this and if I disable the BlackBerry Virtual Private Network connection the wifi temporarily enables automatically.

There is security software blocking ports via wave instructing me that using certain ports is against policy. This happens frequently when I am connected via ethernet. What seems to be happening is that the presence of the BlackBerry vpn is behaving like a local area connection and as a result is triggering the security rules to disable the wifi.

So what do I do about this? Every time I disable the BlackBerry VPN it reenables itself triggering the wifi to switch off.

    Thanks
    John
