Similar complaints would show up on a regular basis for the past several years on PreCentral/webOSnation. People would complain about personal information management functionality that was on Palm OS that didn't show up on webOS - like desktop sync.

Anytime you reboot your platform, you're going to leave behind a lot of niche features that were added to your previous platform over many years. Even today, there will be the occasional post on webOSNation from a guy who insists that his Treo 650 has all of this functionality that he can't duplicate on other platforms so it's still the perfect smartphone for him.

Soon there will be people talking about how they are buying unopened BB7 devices and putting them in the freezer so that they can active them long after they are discontinued.

Could you substantiate please?

Not having an option to change light and dark theme.
Nonfunctional? What exactly was missing for you? (and yes I did feel too, that there were features/stuff missing)

What exactly is backwards? Maybe you just need to flip your phone?

You have to understand that the best os isn't going to be built overnight. Seeing how BlackBerry 10 is the youngest of the os, you have to understand that this isn't the final version of the os. It will be updated to make it better. Just to put things in perspective: Apple didn't have copy/paste until the 3g or 3gs I forgot which, Windows phones don't have the option to copy/paste between apps. These are features that we use daily yet people didn't have them or in wp's case still don't. So before you complain about not having the option to change the theme to dark remember to wait it out. As you can see this feature is starting to show up in leaks, soon it will be fully functional.

just the fact that there was not a drastic improvement

ok i made a whole list of things that i would like to change in the phone/os
like themes, creating folders with picture folders or changing size of picture display in those folder or choosing how you wanted to view pics whether it be lists or not
erm on bbm, i like the old layout on my 8530 where it was on list, and i would like the option to have everything in a list
on bbm profiles it was nice to see the pic, the name, the bbm pin, the status in one screen shot if you know what i mean
i liked that you could search bbm contacts with their pin if you wanted to rather than their names
i like that you could customise the chat on bbm whether it being colours or bubble type
i liked how you could have column view on the browser where everything is just in one alignment on every single webpage
theres loads more

i just liked having those options
i know you or other people would reply saying what is included instead, but i know what is included because i have a bb10 phone anyway
but it is better for the user to have options rather than someone picking out what they want

my complaint isnt about the dark theme i shall delete that now
because i am not going to use the dark theme when i get my q10
but from reading other peoples comments about it- i was just shocked they would take something like that way

Putting the batteries in the freezer might help a bit, but putting the phones themselves in the freezer? C'mon, heymaggie ... consider your credibility before you post.

In a modern touch based os a track pad is useless and a waste of space

it is quiet handy
and it is a nice border between touchscreen a qwerty
and in my opinion it would prevent RSI
