Telus says on their site that BB10.1 is coming March 2013. No surprise for me given it coincides with the US launch.

If Telus releases this update then it will become available for all ST100-3 devices. Even if no other carriers release it a leaked release will be available right away I am sure. I'm personally really looking forward to it

While not certain, it is very likely that at least Skype and WhatsApp will be launched at the same time as the US launch and the release of 10.1 happens. As for Instagram, seriously, what is the freaking deal with it? Is it that important to take pics, filter them, then micro blog your thoughts to the world? I just don't get it...really, I don't.

March begins in 2 days maybe in 1 day in some parts of the world. So we can expect BlackBerry OS 10.1 on 27 March 2013 or thereabouts? I think we should real world test the release before those poor Americans are overwhelmed by the BlackBerry Z10. After all, we had to endure what will be 2 months of diminished functionality compared to the BlackBerry smartphones from which we migrated.

Doesn't matter if you "Get It" or not, people and the market demands this app. BlackBerry needs to pull its head out of its *ss and get it done.

I don't use this app, but I recognize its importance to pop culture. If BB stands a chance to gain traction this app is a must. Almost every teenager (certianly the female ones) currently on an iPhone or Droid will demand this app before ever considering switching to BB.

looks like bb10 os work the same as legacy bb os's in that any version can be installed it is not carrier specific
the only difference in legacy bb's like my 9780 was you had to use a loader to install the OS (which meant wiping it clean, just like the current leaked OS)

so if Telus comes out with a 10.1 OS, ANY STL100-3 z10 should be able to install it
the difference being non telus users will use a loader like the current leaked OS while telus users will get it pushed through BB Link
im guessing it will be based on the sim card? (otherwise i dont think BB Link will know who has which provider and would just push 10.1 to all STL100-3 z10's lol)

    //edit
if you look at the Telus link it says status is "Testing pending"
if you look at the Android phone Samsung Galaxy Rugby LTE it says 4.1 Jellybean is "in telus labs"
i am going to wager this OS 10.1 comes out towards the middle/end of march lol

Seriously? Waited 2 years for bb10 and the new phone.

Now I'm feeling so rushed having an upgrade a month.

Not used to this fast pace. By June we'll be on BB11?

BlackBerry cannot force the owners of Instagram (Facebook) to make apps for their platform. If they could, I would much rather have BlackBerry force Google to make their apps available for BlackBerry 10.

It isn't. No device subsidized by carriers gets updates directly from the manufacturer, aside from the iPhone. Not BB10, not Android, and not Windows Phone.

Well time will tell, but think about it, US release is due for the end of march and BlackBerry will want to have the latest release out for everyone so when such apps like skype come out, everything is all on one platform
