To be honest, BlackBerry are set up for business people, I'm sure they do not want to be associated w a want a be gangsta. Its bad enough they picked Alicia Keys

They tried with Alicia Keys. A Lot of good that did.

Alicia's role has been discussed a lot in some other threads. Her role is as creative director (someone even posted her job duties). She was not hired to endorse or sell the new phones. I am not defending it but rather just pointing out what others have.

I have also posted before that they should think about movie sponsorship like some car companies have done in the past (James Bond anyone?). They could get great product placement or even have the phones be used in the plot. Same with a tv show. A bunch of shows like the new show Motive have characters that use Blackberry phones already.

And Drake is actually an interesting choice. He has been very public for a long time about the fact that he only creates song lyrics on his Blackberry. His longtime producer even carries extra Blackberry phones around for him since he has lost them in the past. Snoop used to be controversial but there was a time not long ago where he was endorsing a ton of stuff. Ice Cube does soda. I think people like Rihanna and Katy Perry would be interesting choices as well.

Plus with Drake, they could use his lyric from his song Over to describe BlackBerry. "It's far from over."

He ain't poppin in my city. No disrespect but we needs a celebrity. BlackBerry could sponsor lil homie and use him trying to get into the rap game as like a representation of BlackBerry trying to get back In the mobile world.

    A Jay-Zed / Zed 10 partnership could work

The only problem with this approach isn't the obvious pronunciation differences of the letter zed, it's the lack of apps, functionality and coolness that appeal to Jay-Zed's audience.
