    BlackBerry Link has stopped working-new-one.jpg

    Hey,

I've been getting this error now for a few days any time I try to sync anything or backup my Z10 with BlackBerry Link.

I'm having an (known) issue where my phone will lose data services (Telus Mobility), and am considering installing a leak to see if that will fix the issue. I want to make sure everything on my phone/Remember App/etc. is backed up before I even begin to seriously consider this. Problem is, anytime I try and do anything with Link I get the above error. Super useful.

    Steps I have tried:
    - Z10 Device Reset. (Hold down power button for ~30 seconds).
    - Uninstalled, and re-installed BB Link on PC.
    - Tried connecting via different USB cord/port.

Any other suggestions? Prior to this Software version (10.1.0.2014) I had no issues with losing Data services or with BB Link.

I have been having the same problem now for over a month as well. Have tried BlackBerry Help but they cannot assist. Surely we are not the only ones having this problem. I love my Z10 but when you need BlackBerry Link to sync with outlook it is becoming a real drag....someone help and let us enjoy the full BlackBerry experience.

It is a shame as this is my only gripe with my Z10, but it should all work not just a part of it.

Uninstall BB Link with "IOBit uninstaller" and use advanced scan.

Then use "CCleaner" to clean out any other dead registry keys it might of left.

Then when trying to install BB Link, run it as admin.

    Thanks! The following worked:

    -Uninstalled again.
    -Ran CCleaner's Registry Cleaner.
    -Installed as Admin.
    -Ran BBLink as Admin.

Sign-In doesn't work, but I was able to Sync and do a Backup.

We need to figure out why Sign-in doesn't work...Looks like you are doing all the right things. I use CCleaner, have for 6 years. What version Link do you have? 1.1.1.32? That's the latest...Very important..

Gotta make sure you're using the same BBID as the one on your device!

Yep, have also used CCleaner for awhile too. Don't run the Reg cleaner portion very often though.

    I'm using BlackBerry Link v1.1.1.32
    Windows 7 SP1, 64bit

Yep! I only have 1 BBID. Since entering my credentials the Sign-In process never seemed to take place. Clicking "Sign In" within BB Link takes me to the secondary screen where I can only "Retry". Clicking Retry does nothing, although it doesn't seem to really retry. It's almost as if the button isn't active. I'm not too concerned since the backup finally worked - unless there is a downside to not being signed in?

Really, BB is truly wasting my time.
I've done all the steps, uninstalled Link, used the cleaner, reloaded Link, it still fails.
Have run wthout Outlook sync for 5 months, and now I'm tired of all the workarounds.

No. I'm pretty certain that BlackBerry Link was INTENTIONALLY programmed to behave this way because I can't believe that any company would ever let a piece of software this monumentally buggy out the door.

Seriously. BlackBerry Link may be the worst desktop app I have ever had the displeasure to use.

I am getting the same message when I open Blackberry link. Wirelessly, everything runs fine but as soon as I connect my passport with the USB, i get that message.

    Blend works fine though.

I really hope someone figures out how to fix this. I need to back up my phone.
