    So before i update to 10.3.1 on my Z10 I'm wanting to do a full back up of my device just in case something goes wrong. But everytime i;ve tried the back up fails with a message along the lines of back up failed please ensure you device is connected and turned on" this has happened like 5 time now. I have tried uninstalling link and the device drivers and using sachesi but even that doesn't work!!

    Any ideas anyone?

    Are you using a "data cable" and not just a run of the mill charging usb cable? They may look the same, but they are not...

    I'm using the data cable that came with my bb 9900 bold, i have used this cable before to do a back up on my z10 :\ . Suppose i could try the cable that came with my z10

    those should be the same. You might try to connect the USB cable to another usb port on your pc to force a driver reload for the new buss address.....

    Yeah tried with my z10 cable same thing :| i have tried all four ports on my laptop same thing. Not too sure whats wrong tbh. Suppose ill have to back up my sms, contacts and notes using firechest backup or another app then do a wipe

    Yes window 7, I just tired to do the update via link but had to stop it, it got up to 8% after like 5 hours!? What's that about! Lol
