Blackberry L Series Convertible !!! Is it possible???
Just a thought that ran through my mind, if we could have a a sleeve with physical keyboard that could covert the touchscreen phone into a qwerty phone. All you have to do is slide the Sleeve with the physical keyboard onto the touch screen phone, the sensors in the phone detect that a keyboard is attached and the screen becomes Half the size and lets the rest to be the physical keyboard part. The best part would be that you don't spend anything extra, just a software to make the screen half and a Sleeve that when touch coordinates with the touch screen keyboard.
Very bad at pictures, but have morphed one to just give you an Idea
I am unable to Upload the picture
But will try later and upload it.

Reminds me of the Sony Ericsson P9xx series. They were flip out keyboards, Open the flip and get a full Touch screen experience, close the flip and get a Qwerty experience ... and best of all these were detachable.

I am sure somebody like DigitalHomeBoy (TK Justice Fame) can get better models on the same concept... But this just struck me and I had to share it :-)

i think it is feasible... because it need not be made by RIM it could be done by any third party company, all you are doing is just changing the already in market phone to a Qwerty phone... and regarding the size it can be reduced to 720X720 by making an appropriate sized sleeve...
But then again...this is just my concept may not be feasible due to many other factors that am not aware of WRT BB10 os itself... Lets wait and see if somebody can take it up.... - 12-04-2012, 08:08 PM #10
What about a tablet type case for it?? ie. a portfolio case with a bluetooth keyboard built in? Or does anyone remember those cases for the 9810 that snapped to themselves, and had built in sliders....???...What if the bottom portion of the case had a sliders that slid out a Bluetooth keyboard in landscape form?? I'm sure there would be a setting to prevent the virtual keyboard from popping up in landscape form. that would be the perfect case if it could be built thin enough and strong enough.

Im pretty sure something like this will come to the London, that is, if it gains enough popularity.

Interesting idea, I like it! It would also be nice to be able to use that separate keyboard with your playbook (just make it bluetooth)
The more I think about it, this would actually be the perfect solution for me. The only concern I have with traditional sliders is that they're thicker, but if I could detach the keyboard it would fix that problem
