It is such a pain and stress for me when I use one of my fiends' phones that have android or ios!!! The experience with the keyboard have simply no comparison.

Although this can be a taste thing, I find the ads in android a terrible shortcoming and battery drain on devices that have it.

Maybe it's going to be just a dream, but I'm hoping blackberry will keep developing blackberry 10. Blackberry could let the users choose what operating system they want to install on their devices, either android or bb10.

I hope BlackBerry mercury comes with bb10

I flip flop but always love bb10 right now I'm on my White Classic and just love it. The Classic wasn't given enough time. My father inlaw works for City Bank and they just started handing out classics. I don't get why Chen cut that cord so quickly. Big corporations just don't move that fast, you need to give things time and I love the classic!!!

The CPU classic wasn't available anymore, that is what happens when you use 2012 chip for a 2015 phone...

Sopt dreaming, the Mercury will be sold by TCL not BlackBerry, and will be powered by Android Nougat.

BB10 is still the amongst all available options in the market. Been using BlackBerry for so long. My present BlackBerry Classic still beats all other business phones easily.
    Long live BB10!

When you say you don't regret it al all making the switch from a Classic to a PRIV, does that include the awesome keyboard you sacrificed?

The OS7 diehard had the very same opinion and moved on to BB10. These would move to BB Droid too.

Blackberry should just release a very good BB10 launcher and make the Hub better. Et voil, the diehard will move on.

Don't forget that BB is also known for their awesome PKB. So far the only device that will have a keyboard that is as good as the Classic is the unreleased Mercury. Until then, many will stay on the BB10 ship

It didn't have enough time because it should have been a launch phone, and not show up 2 years later! Taking away the toolbelt that millions used and loved (Q10) was a huge mistake, and you can't blame John Chen for that one. Many people kept their 9900's because of the lack of a PKB with toolbelt option when BB10 released.

The PRIV keyboard isn't quite as good: the Classic's keys appear to be a bit taller and I'm having trouble with the PRIV's space bar - it's clearly not as good as my Classic's was.

For me, it's balanced out by the following:
    • the PRIV has the "flick up to select a word" feature - very cool, very handy.
    • with the PRIV I have access to Google Hangouts - very handy for work, I was unable to get that to work on the Classic at all
    • larger screen on the PRIV is very nice
    • Before my Classic I had a 9810 slider and have always loved the slider form factor, so the PRIV is a win there.

So, yes, the Classic's keyboard was better, but I can get by very well with the PRIV's keyboard. The lack of Hangouts and the bonus of the slider form factor were enough to overcome the superior keyboard.

Emotions and nostalgia aside... I use Passport as main mobile device (along with Android phone as backup) because it suits my needs. And I see no reason to change that.
I'm not an avid electronics enthusiast anymore as I used to be years ago (when definition of "mobile" was different). But I still follow news and put my hands on new devices whenever I have this opportunity. And you know what? I'm not impressed. So many models - all repeating each other in design and in features, so many "innovations" which I find useless. I'm less happy with the latest creations of Samsung and Apple than I was in 1990 when I bought my first Sharp's Organizer.
Is it just "thrill has gone" for me? May be. Or may be not - as I continue to support from time to time some interesting projects on Kickstarter and Indiegogo - where real innovations I find.
    Back to Blackberry.
My Playbook is good for music, light browsing and occasional reading - so let it stay on my desk or near the bed. Or in my bag on the trip along with HDMI cable - to plug in hotel's TV and watch some favourite videos.
My Passport gives me everything I need in communications (4 email a/c with 40-80 messages read/written per day, BBM, Telegram, Wechat), browsing, file storage and some photo and occasional media playing. Why should I waste my time and money on other super-duper fashionable stuff if my tools work?
I used Palms until my eyes could not accept small screen anymore, then I switched to e-books. I used my Treo until something got wrong with the battery and I could not find the replacement. Hey, even ZQ-8200 was OK for me despite its 64KB memory until Palm V replaced it. And you know what - ZQ could run for months on one set of batteries.
The same will happen with my current equipment: run until broken or until I'm not happy with it.
99.99988% think differently? Ah, whatever. I never committed to follow the majority.
