blackberry 10 with a physical keyboard
i know that the first blackberry 10 device is an all touch device and its keyboard is amazing! but i would love to see a physical keyboard device running blackberry 10 this would be in my opinion better than an all touch device. However, i know that rim has to create an all touch device to make it and not break it but rim has to make physical keyboard with blackberry 10..so is it the end of blackberry physical keyboards ??

I'm expecting the first BlackBerry 10 device with a physical keyboard to be similar to the current Torch (9810) AND/OR one with a horizontal slider.
A fixed keyboard (Bold or Curve type device) will be difficult to implement with a larger screen. - 05-02-2012, 01:50 PM #3
I've been waiting for RIM to finally get back in the game and BB10 looks amazing but if they don't use the iconic form factor (9000, 9900) when they release a QWERTY BB10 device.... I'll never be able to come back...

The thing is, I don't understand how people use the Torch 9800/10 and not get frustrated. Everyone I've seen using it is constantly flicking the keyboard out and then flicking it down. Blackberry devices are ADDICTIVE! This is why the keyboard should be ready at all times, like the Bold 9900, 9000, etc.--- Weapon Inventory ---

I think something like the torch makes the most sense. I wouldn't want something like the bold because the screen real estate has to suffer.

I think I have to agree with this. It would be relatively difficult to use and develop for a Bold/Curve style BB10 device.
I can imagine a "BB10-lite" OS designed for smaller screens coming to these devices though, but not until RIM is done with BB7.
Unless...
It's theoretically possible for RIM to make a hybrid OS with minimal R&D costs. BB8 could be 90% of the BB7 code running on a QNX-based JVM, with RIM slowly replacing the Java code with BB10 code. This would allow for the familiarity of BB7, but with QNX performance enhancements (and better application management) to allow BB8 to run fine on Curve 9360-level hardware.Blackberry 10 > Windows Phone 7/8 > Blackberry 7 > iOS > Android > Symbian > WebOS > Meego - 05-02-2012, 09:01 PM #6
I think RIM will do a Torch like slider and a Bold/Curve type form factor. BB10 looks whole lot like webOS and Palm was able to pull-off both form factors in the Pre and Pixi.
I had both and much preferred the Pixi and would have killed for a more "man size" Bold form factor. Hopefully, we'll get a Bold with BB10 in the second iteration of new devices.
The keyboard has to me immediately accessible or it defeats the purpose for me.Blackberry Bold 9930 & Playbook 32 GB (also TouchPad and iPad2 3G) - 05-05-2012, 02:04 AM #7
I had a pixi... was so ashamed when I would pull it out. had to switch to the pre haha
Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using TapatalkI'm pretty sure Fonzie would use a BB

I really hope RIM will make a torch 9810 like model. Honestly, it would nicely fit my wants and needs.
