BB10 Dev Alpha on Playbook
I keep seeing the photos of BB10 on the new phones showing four panels (music, weather, etc., etc.). I've read that BB10 can be loaded onto the PB (with lots of disabled features).
Can anyone post an image of the PB running BB10 and showing the four panel homescreen. Or at least tell me if it can be done? - 08-10-2012, 02:29 PM #5

I realize that BB10 isn't scheduled to be released before Jan 2013 and that it won't come to the PB until sometime after that - maybe (?) the second quarter.
To rephrase my question, I've read that some people have the Dev Alpha running on their PBs. I was wondering, if that is true, does the homescreen have the four panel display as shown in the photos released by RIM.
Can anyone confirm or deny it?

The version of BB10 on the Dev Alpha isn't the true BB10 OS anyway. It is more like a modified PlayBook OS that supports Cascades. None of the BB10 features that they have been showing off (tiles, keyboard, camera...) are on the Dev Alpha yet, so porting the Dev Alpha version won't give you tiles or much of anything over what the 2.1 PlayBook 2.1 beta has.
Hopefully they will start adding some of the new features into Dev Alpha updates. It would be kind of hard to develop app tiles without the feature beib implemented first.RuneCryption - Unique memory game for PlayBook & BB10.Thanked by:StormieTwo (08-13-2012)

The version of BB10 that's running on public Dev Alpha devices does not have the BB10 home screen. It has the PlayBook home screen awkwardly kludged to work on the device.
If you were to run the public Dev Alpha version of BB10 on a PlayBook, you'd probably get a home screen that looked exactly like the current PlayBook OS, with slightly larger icons and strange font sizing issues.
