I think it should come by October. Let us know if you have received it already from BlackBerry.

BlackBerry 10 is dead and gone; unfortunately!

Software-based programs will be left as is. Developers will leave. The archaic android segment will cease to run programs as time passes.

So goes BlackBerry into just trying to sell clones of another less than desirable device.

BlackBerry will wither away and will be sold only to pick over the good pieces.
I had hope, but that is now dashed!

A few months ago I would have argued that there is a glimmer of hope.. but I seems to me that they are doing everything in their power to destroy the consumer brand. I cant see these latest headsets selling any significant numbers. They sacrificed several million loyal fans to gain a few hundred thousand android people. I would bet any amount of money a single properly designed BB10 device could have brought them back from the dead. I feel still a BB10 device would outsell all the DTEK and Priv devices combined.

I have it already and it is a mess.
Screen stops displaying all of a sudden and it will only return to normal after 2 reboots.

In other words, don't get too excited. It's either going to be just another OS update with only the numbers changed or another OS that's going to mess you up emotionally.

    No kidding, eh?

A lot of fuss and cursing over something that is only security updates. And the restart for the (apparently) large number of illiterate (or stupid, your choice) people who didn't pay any attention to the fact that what they loaded was not meant for the general public.

So many people dismiss the overdue update because it's "only security updates".

    Only Security?

Isn't that BlackBerry's entire point? Security?

Should just give us autoloaders for android for phones playbooks. HP Touchpad has freaking Android Marshmallow and it was made in 2011.

I don't have a problem with what they are doing. I have two Passports and will keep them as long as possible. Frankly, I agree with Chen's strategy. There is no profit for a minor player with a different OS in the device business. But BlackBerry can be a player in the software business and we can keep our unique devices, but they will be built by others and operate on android overlaid with BlackBerry Hub.

The OS is not a mess, you're a mess. You're running a dev version (or beta, as some like to call it) which isn't supposed to be stable.

That's because you can install a different bootloader on the Touchpad to be able to install Android and because HP open sourced most of the Touchpad drivers.
I'm sure XDA has *some* driver blobs from other phones with similar hardware to our BB10 phones but probably not all. And even if they did, then there's no way you can get break or circumvent BB10's bootloader.
