Seriously, why do people keep saying that? It's the middle of November ffs! It's still very much possible for BlackBerry to release 10.3.3 this month.

I'm holding out for as long as I can to gauge whether I can trust BlackBerry. No 10.3.3, then why would I trust them enough to buy Dtek60? The Pixel xl looms large I'm afraid.

(2) BB lovers still purchased BlackBerry os due to great OS

Its a win win scenario for to BlackBerry.

I guess we need to flood tweets to John Chen to at least work out the 2 OS updates for early release

What's the rush for the update? It's only a security patch or something similar. You won't have anything visual to see. And BBOS10 is just about dead anyway. The update we are waiting for will probably be the last one anyway. Sad.

Because people like to know the platform they are invested in is still being supported. Because they are still selling devices with bb10 on them. Because being silent on the whole thing is doing nothing but burning bridges with your customers. If I can't trust BlackBerry to communicate their support for their own platform why should I consider their other offerings.

Makes sense.BlackBerry has said that they stand behind BB10.What that means is has been debated into the ground.If their communication is not up to your satisfaction then you have to do what you think is right.

Sorry, I jumped topics mid-thought. Just saying that I'd like to switch to a DTEK60, but don't have the cash to do so right now, so I was hoping for at least something good in 10.3.3 to show me some love on the Z30 until I can get a DTEK. It's frustrating how long updates take to push through all the red tape.

PlayBook OS received a few updates after the BB10 update was canceled. BB10 is expected to get similar updates (its already had two post BB Android OS).

I find this whole thing baffling too.

Either they monumentally underestimated the resources required to complete this project (and are embarrassed to say as much), monumentally underestimated the time for the 3rd party to certify, or something spectacular happened behind the scenes - the likes of which I could never guess.

I have a different theory. The submitted builds have failed certification (rejected), and the remaining unqualified, inadequate, BB10 "team" have been unable to address outstanding issues and supply a build that can pass certification (so far). Also, sorry, but I would not expect a 10.4, regardless of what has been said.

It's simple basic marketing. Chen wants everybody to get one of the BB Android devices and get rid of BB10. Working on two different OS is simply not efficient for any manufacturer and BB10 already lost the race.
Holiday season is just around the corner and Chen hopes that most BB10 users will use that opportunity to buy a new BlackBerry Android phone.
If they release an update for BB10 before Xmas and everything on your phone suddenly functions as it should again, people will stick to their current device and not buy a new one. Keeping BlackBerry stuck with two OS.
So IF there will ever be an update for BB10, it will not be released before January...

I've always had BBs over the last 10 years and it really kinda hurts to say this, but I'm going to switch to another device. I don't like android and I can't afford to have an obsolete phone that doesn't support the most basic apps. So indeed I will use the holiday season to buy a new one...
