Since yesterday. When i receive or make a call, the z10 is making the sound of the "#" key for half second when the communication start.

I don't know where is it from and I'm about to wipe...

Any idea where this sound is from.

Has happened to me since the 9810 torch. I just stopped worrying about and assumed it was a carrier network thing.

Then after the snowden releases I assumed it was the NSA tapping the call.

Just a guess but maybe for some reason you're getting a notification or message when you start a call?

It's very annoying, specially when I call an automatic call center.
I recently installed call recorder pro and parrot, but i uninstalled and restarted the z10 but still the same Bip at the call connection

I would guess on a glitch on phone calls. Have you tried hardware re booting (holding both vol +/- button 10 seconds) ? If this not work I sure would go for a wipe and restore from a backup earlier this apps where installed. Good luck !

Same thing started happening to me from about a week ago. I've installed 2267 to see if that will make a difference. Was blaming it on the last leak I had installed because I was linking the behavior to that installation.

Hmm, somewhere in 10.3.x they added a feature to make that sound when the call connects. I found it helpful yet startling. Sometimes it takes up to 20 seconds for the ringing to start, so when I press "call", its nice to have the reminder beep 15-20 seconds later so I realize the call is actually going through now.

But I can't seem to find that option anywhere, now.

Actually now it doesn't make the sound anymore but the phone still send the "#" when the call start ( incoming and outgoing calls).
When I call some 800 number with automatic server ,the "#" is sending wrong info.
Gonna wait the update..maybe the19 th..if no update I will wipe and see..

I get that noise when the house icon (that no one has given me a good explanation of) is present. I've had the phone for like 2 years now and I never saw this icon before about a month ago. It's not listed in the "icons" under help. When it's there I get the beep your talking about. I'm on Verizon.

OK so I deleted all three call apps I had installed and made a trial call. So far so good too. I will reinstall them one at a time to see which one or if all cause the same issue. Thanks for the tip.

I know a few solutions have been posted. Another couple possibilities could be that you have a voicemail and that beep is the friendly indicatpr or the Bluetooth device you have connected is low on battery juice.

Well I don't... am I connected to a neighbors or something? And I only get the beep when I'm connected to it.

I was told by the dev of the call recording app I use that this beep is needed to enable the recording.

Apparently BlackBerry made this necessary in the latest OS like 10.3.1. I guess its to inform callers that their calls are being recorded or something similar.

I find this quite annoying as do people who call me. I am no 007 agent and neither am I trying to record calls for blackmail or anything similar. I find these call recorders make writing down information during a call unnecessary, I can just go back after the call, at my leisure, and get that phone number, contact detail, address or other information.

I hope that one of the developers finds a way to fix this or BlackBerry makes a change to eliminate this annoyance.

I'll buy the first app that gets around this beeping beep

I don't have that this is a problem on android devices as a colleague who uses a similar app on his android device does not have this problem. I don't know anyone on iOS who uses a call recorder so I don't know if this is a problem on Apple devices too.
