    I received a brand new BlackBerry Classic. First I did was to allow it to receive it's update. My keyboard backlight did not work. I everything to fix it to no avail. Research before you update. Now I am afraid of updates now.

    It would help to know exactly which version update you installed. Many of the carrier updates are still way behind the currently available versions. To find this out, type myver in any textbox on your phone, and paste the result here in another post. Then someone can direct to you a newer update, if it exists.
