Update: thanks for the replies, I've gone ahead and installed the latest BBOS 3.1 on my Z30 without the micro SD.


I'm going to update my Z30 to latest/greatest OS 10.3.1.2072, So, I'm waiting for a Micro SD card, would it change anything if I update with or without the Micro SD installed? I was guessing if I waited until the MIcro SD arrived,, that when doing the install,, the operation would be able to utilize the Micro SD, leaving more room on the phones resident 16 GB, or am I just nit picking?

I don't even think the backup restore uses any microsd space / ressources at all.

You can have the info of your microsd backed up to your pc but that's not what you're making reference to.

On BB10 the microSD card is for storing media, documents, or files.

The media card is not utilized at all by an OS update.

When I use an autoloader I typically remove my media card beforehand. When doing a non-destructive update such as a Blitz file, I leave the card in.

I never take out my media card when using autoloaders which is what I solely use. Never had an issue.
