    Hey guys...
    Since there's a lot of rumors about 10.3.1 rolling out this month, I have a question while waiting for it..
    I am currently on 10.3.1.2072 but a leak not official (z10). So what is the best way to upgrade to 10.3.1 when it rolls officially? I heard that 2072 is gonna roll out so I will probably not gonna get an update OTA since I am already on that version but a leak. I thought rolling back to official 10.2.1 and wait for the official 10.3.1 update to come through OTA... Is that a good or bad idea? Any other suggestions?

    If they roll out .2072, you already have it. No need to do anything.
    If they roll out a version below .2072, you are on a higher build. No need to do anything.
    If they roll out a version higher than .2072, you get the OS OTA. No need to do anything.

    Backups are always welcome and you should be doing them on a monthly basis no matter update rollouts.

    Don't do anything.

    If the official is newer, you will get it.

    Yeah well, I thought the official version was supposed to be more stable and tested, that's why I'm asking... but still, I can't complain about this leak, works ok except wifi limited conn issue sometimes... thanx for your suggestions guys, really appreciate it

    You need not do anything. As people like me still rocking on 10.2 are excited for official launch of 10.3.1 but you're already on that so official one will not excite you much.

    You will still get the update even if you are on the same version... there might be some files which are newer than the leaks and they will get updated... so the OTA update for you will be small

    No. If there were any changes at all, the OS would be given a different number. You might get carrier bloatware, but that's it.

    There have been instances of same number but with changes in the core. Leaks with less bug fixes, releases with some fixes, number remains the same. Doesn't happen often and I actually believe it's a fluke on their part ("oh damn, forgot to update the version tracker. Eh, screw it.").... Not sure if it happened on BB10 though, but sure did back on BBOS.

    I will security wipe mine. Then I will use BlackBerry Link for the update . Then I'll security wipe it again and start from scratch

    That's usually them testing the waters for the full blown release date.

    And it was on long enough for people to grab the files and distribute here.

    Because that's what he likes to do. (There is no particular reason to do so, nor any proof that multiple wipes are better than a single - we have a whole thread somewhere on the crazy steps people take when upgrading. )
