After reading the article posted by BlackBerry last week about the ability to add webpages to the Homescreen in a simple click, I was wondering what others have used this function for? I think that mobile sites have evolved to a point where "apps" CAN be useless when you can do all the same functions through the company's mobile Webpage.

Right now, I'm using the following through the Add to Homescreen function:

    Uber
    Google Maps

I've also customized the icons by using the app Docu Shortcut. It makes for a more "native" look and feel for some apps that aren't currently in BlackBerry World.

Please don't hijack this thread with calls to just use Android apps as alternatives. This is another way to get "apps" and I kind of like the more native experience by doing it this way. It's also super easy and updates are automatic! Haha

Please list other great mobile sites that can be used as "apps" by using the Add to Homescreen function.

    Thanks

    Nokia maps

I prefer it even over Google maps

Depends on your city's transit info, but I find it handy.

Wow Nokia Maps is pretty sweet. It works great from the browser too. When I created this shortcut, BB10 actually recognized it and changed the icon to the HERE Maps logo. It did the same thing with Uber when I created it. Pretty awesome actually.

You can add most airline and banks too. Works like an app!

This add to home screen is a great tool. BUT be careful as you can not add as many as you want. There is a maximum amount that you can add and then it will stop allowing you to add to the home screen. I do not know what the max number is but I have experienced this myself.
