Not that it is terrible high or anything, and I have gotten good battery life on my Z10 (12-18 hours till I hit 30%), but I get this impression Bedside Mode drains more battery than just putting notifications on silent.

    Can anyone else confirm?

I wouldn't say it drains more, but it surely allows for more of a drain than any Berry I ever had before...

I wonder if it makes a difference if you activate beside mode from the lock screen or from the Clock icon.

I activate it through the lock screen. How do you activate on yours?

You can alson activate it via the Clock/Alarm app...

BTW since we canot make the phone hibernate as we with BBOS, I use it time to time and never had batterie drain issue yet.

Hadn't noticed one way or the other. Mine is plugged in and charging when in bedside mode.

+1 I have a charger by my nightstand and charge it overnight.

For the last couple of days I've noticed abnormal battery drain with the alarm on. That's why I'm on here checking if anyone else has the same problem.
Last 2 nights phone almost shut down due to low battery. Never happened before. And I've never had the poor battery life problem - ever!
I've done a reset(2 volume buttons) and turned off Skype (seemed like a good idea) .
    We'll see what happens!

If you don't need the clock, then after putting it in bedside mode, push the top power button to turn the screen off.

Also my first thought. Having the clock shown = screen on, will cause extra battery usage compared to turning the screen off.

I always charge when I go to bed, so I don't really think about battery usage a night.

I am not sure, but I think bedside mode might be running as an active frame.

I think I've found the culprit!
    EmWeather .
I had it set on aggressive location detection - my fault.
Dropped the aggressiveness and it seems to have behaved itself today.
    Will monitor it overnight!
