I'll start by saying I don't use BBM, I have one contact which never talks to me anyway, so it never gets opened.

But for some reason every 2 or so weeks BBM's cpu usage rockets up and sits there at 20-30 constantly, this makes my device heat up in my pocket and my battery to drop 30% before I've even noticed what's going on.

I end up rebooting the phone to sort it, anyone know why it might be doing this?

I been experiencing the same problem many times since I got my Z30 last June.

Like you OP, I never have or will use BBM. I don't know how, but it always seems to kick off after I've been in a bad reception area for some time.

I wonder if the forthcoming 10.3.1 will change things? Does anyone who's loaded a leak have any information.

Same problem. BlackBerry has known about this bug for several months now. If it has not been fixed in 10.3.1, I'm not buying a BlackBerry again. Can't afford the battery draining unexpectedly at critical times.
