I thought linking BBM to a contact would pull in the same image. I think this is how it worked in OS6. From what I recall you could use either the image your contact has set up or your own.

Is this a functionality that's not in OS10? How do I add an image otherwise?

Nope. Only half my contacts pictures seem to have appeared too. Not sure why that is. I can't find a way to add a picture either.

I'm having the same issue. With my BB Curve, I could assign a photo to a BBM contact if they had chosen not to have one themselves. Doesn't seem to be an option on the BBZ10.

you can choose which picture you want after you have linked the different accounts onto the contact.

just go into the contact and tap on the photo of the person.

It is a little different in BB10. You will likely have two contacts, one for BBM, one for the same person with email, etc. Link them by pressing and holding one of them in contacts list, click on check mark that appears lower right, then select other duplicate contact, then click the merge button, which looks like a couple of chain links. Then edit merged contact and choose desired picture.

Hi - I have a merged contact with a photo attached, but that photo doesnt show up in BBM? I used to be able to do this with my 9900 and would like it to be the same.
