Hi everybody,

I'm new to blackberry. I just got a Z30 and i wanted to know if we absolutely have to use BBlink. I red some posts about issues with BBlink. It's even mentionned BETA when you access the page on BB site.
I did not yet downloaded it. I wanted some advices before.
What are the real interests of BBLink, as apparently when can transfer datas in both directions with USB cable ?
Do yo recommend to process everything with BBlink ?

Hi and welcome to BlackBerry and to the CB website!!!
BBLink has to be used to back up your device. I suggest that once you get your phone loaded with apps and everything is working, that you INDEED do back up your device with it.

You don't have to use BBLink to transfer images and music. But at least make a good solid backup.

You can backup your Z10 any number of ways. Apps for texts, external hdd's for music, pics n videos, copy and paste, BlackBerry Link. And more...it's fairly simple.

Link has a nice feature called Remote File Access that you may find good use of. You can share folders on that PC to your phone via wife or your data plan.

And the importance thing is Link will install your BlackBerry device driver on PC once it plugged for the first time.
So, next time they're connected through USB, they're good to go.
