BB10 Why Not BlackBerryX
Ok, So we can't use BBX. Why not just call it BlackBerry X and "us" users would refer to it as BBX . Users will say BBX while RIM calls it BlackBerry X lol, Why have BB10 if we have not had 8 or 9 yet??? regardless I'm calling it BBX lol

X is 10 in roman notation. So BB10 is natural, isn't it ?

I agree with OP. BlackBerry X would've been much stronger branding.
His point is that although BBX is trademarked, the full name BlackBerry X is not!
RIM should just keep referring to their new OS as BlackBerry X... If users like us decide to shorten it as BBX, then, well, it's not RIM's fault. RIM just has to make sure all official documents use the full name. - 04-12-2012, 02:17 PM #5
The last thing they need is a lawsuit. Blackberry X is too close to BBX. I don't mind Blackberry 10 nobody can complain about it.

The BB10 name is terrible. RIM got stuck on numbers after BBX, which they should have just bought, because of the previous OS's were numeric. But since they didn't, they should have gone with something else: BB Next, BB Platinum, BB Apex, BB NXT, etc.

Why does it matter? BBX. BB10. I doubt anyone besides people on a smartphone forum care.

It's kinda absurd about people thinking there would be an issue with marketing utilizing BlackBerry X.
I think we can all agree that RIM has "BlackBerry®" locked down in all shapes and fashions.
On all legal documents BlackBerry X would be used.
Users of the platform would lovingly call it BBX.
Just like we do now with BlackBerry Messenger®...
We lovingly call it BBM. But, that is not the actual legal term.
I really don't care as I just want awesome new devices. But, I won't knock the idea.MY TAKE ON THE BOLD 9900... I DON'T KNOW HOW, OR WHY, BUT IT WORKS!!!

It's because there is an adult movie by the name of Blackberry X and RIM doesn't want to get sued again...

LoL. Seriously? An adult movie? Gotta be kidding!

At least BBX was used in the tech field. Close and similar to be argued.
An adult film juxtaposed to a technology company?
OK, I give. I am wrong.
Too timid to "Be Bold" I guess.......................MY TAKE ON THE BOLD 9900... I DON'T KNOW HOW, OR WHY, BUT IT WORKS!!!
