Hi,

I haven't yet upgraded to a BB10, but I was wondering if BB10 has the same app behaviour that we have on the playbook (showcase mode); that will keep an app running actively while we check on something else. IE: keeping a movie playing (audio continues) while quicly checking a message.

I haven't yet had a chance to check out this feature on a live BB10 device.

If there is already a thread on the subject, I apologize. I haven't found any satisfactory answers on this.

Don't know if there is a thread, however I just tested to confirm and it pauses the video. Also since the UI is different from the PlayBook you could not do things like "Play NFS + Watch a Movie" like in the PlayBook, cause the Active Frames are smaller and in general have are intended to work different from the PlayBook's.

if you are in the browser and streaming music the audio still plays when it's minimized. for a video, the audio still plays too, but the video is paused in the active frame.

oh, so streaming a video online the sound continues while minimized into an active frame. That is more promising.

I'm still deciding whether to take the plunge. These answers are critical.

I'm not too sure why they've omitted the ability to have a video continue to play while in active frame mode (sound still works). Despite the active frame size, it would definitely be more aesthetically pleasing to have the video continue instead of freezing the image when popping out to let's say, check the weather or something. This is a noted and advertised feature in the PlayBook, but I guess they want to save resources on the Z10...
